F.A.T Constructed Responses

Dear Parents,

On the nightly reading logs, please encourage your student to write a F.A.T response. I know this sounds strange, but please see the anchor chart below for more details.

If you want to go a step further in helping your student with F.A.T responses, please have your student practice with some basic comprehension questions from you. Questions like:

1) What is the main idea of your story/text?

2) Who is your favorite character and why?

3) How would you use a heading in a non-fiction text to help you understand what you are reading?
